Standardization of an Automatic Inspection System

Laser surface inspection of continuous web materials is capable of more objective results than most human inspectors. This fact complicates the standardization and calibration of the laser system. Calibration methods are discussed, including the human operator himself, resolution grids, and other transfer standards.
