Since manufacturers of child-resistant closures have no absolute method of determining whether a package is effective, they are dependent on their engineering, quality control, and management groups to develop an acceptable quality control procedure. This paper discusses the functions of these groups and how they coordinate their efforts to devise effective systems to handle the unique problems inherent in the production of child-resistant packaging.
