Two neutron sources, a Cockroft-Walton 14 MeV neutron generator and a Cf-252 neutron source, have been applied to analyses of lunar samples for major and minor element determinations. Instrumentation and details of the techniques employed are discussed. It is shown that most major and minor elements found in lunar samples can be determined via the technique of instrumental neutron activation analysis employing these two relatively inexpensive neutron sources.
