Numerous accelerometer configurations have been proposed and implemented by previous researches to determine parameters of the motion of the body to which the accelerometers are attached. To date, there has been no study of the geometric requirements of such configurations. This paper presents the requirements for minimal configurations for the case of general planar motion.
