A Force Applied in the Median Plane at the Center of a Circular Insert in a Plate

The problem to be considered in this paper is the determination of the state of stress in a plate containing a right, circular, cylindrical hole filled with a material of different elastic properties, subjected to a central concentrated force in the median plane of the plate. A special solution is also presented in which the modulus of rigidity of the insert is allowed to approach infinity such that no deformation occurs.
