A two-dimensional friction induced vibration model taking the effects of change of material properties due to the temperature rise of a brake-pad into consideration is introduced in order to explain the experimental behavior of a brake pad and rotating disk system. Numerical simulations based on this model are conducted and results such that before the onset of the large amplitude vibrations it takes some minutes after the beginning of the contact was obtained, which is consistent with those of experiments.
