Occuring frictional induced vibration of dry clutches and brakes can lead to NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) and functional disorder of clutches in machines and automobiles. This behaviour is not accepted by the costomer. In consequence the system components are often overdimensioned, which is not acceptable in reasons of economy and a decreasing mounting space. To solve these problems a model based method has been developed, which allows a sophisticated dimensioning of clutch systems in view of the occurrence of frictional vibration and transmittable torque.
