It is shown that the main structural characteristic defining the wear value at friction is the shear-resistance of a polymeric matrix. The formation of the interfacial regions in the polymer composites results to the increase of this parameter. The mentioned criterion is correct both for the fatigue and for the abrasive mechanisms of friction wear.
