Recording body accelerations has been investigated previously to monitor health, metabolic energy expenditure, postural sway and falls . Activity monitoring and the subsequent analysis of the accelerometry data have also proven useful in detecting physical activity levels among Parkinson’s and osteoarthritis patients .
