Convection-enhanced delivery (CED) is a promising drug delivery method for treating diseases of the brain and spinal cord. CED infuses therapeutic agents via a cannula directly into the intraparenchymal space, circumventing the blood–brain barrier (BBB) and improving drug targeting [1]. CED enhances the transport of macromolecules by introducing convective transport to supplement diffusive transport.
