Osteoporosis is a bone disease which manifests itself in the perforation and subsequent resorption of individual trabeculae [1]. Bone mass is consequently reduced leading to a mechanically weakened structure which is prone to fractures. These fractures have serious health and social implications for sufferers of osteoporosis.
