A design framework for internal repair of buried pressure pipes was recently proposed and is under development by AWWA and ASME committees. This paper discusses the design approach and quality control procedures prior to, during, and after CFRP liner installation in buried pressure pipes. We discuss the importance of and the requirements for prequalification of materials and installers, onsite verification of quality of construction prior to commencement of repairs, inspection procedures during construction, and post-installation inspection and testing of installed CFRP.
