Large deformation takes place in the forming process of cold stamping formed head. Such large forming strain induces large content of martensite transformation and then decreases the plasticity and ductility in transformation regions, which will affect the safety of head used under low temperature. Therefore, having an accurate prediction of forming strain can provide the basis for safe use of cold stamping formed heads. In this paper, a method for predicting forming strain is put forward. A prediction model is established through cold stamping forming test and FEA. Meanwhile, a forming strain prediction interval based on statistic analysis is also established, which is then proved to have a good prediction of foming strain for cold stamping formed head made of S30408 metastable ASS through test verification.
