In seeking robust methods for creep assessments of quality, two key topics need urgent attention. These are creep data extrapolation techniques derived from relatively short-term tests and creep cracking prior to rupture. This paper provides proposals to these ends, which are practical in use and offer some insights for more economic data collection.
