A Microsoft Excel model is presented to calculate set points of the elements involved in one paper mill power house to generate steam and power. The power house supply 100% of steam to the user and power is covered partially, the rest of the power comes from the public utility. This scheme generates some savings to the user, but this may be maximized calculating appropriate set points for steam and power production. The power house consists of two mobile cogeneration units or MCU’s and three package boilers that burn natural gas. Partial load characteristics of the power house elements are included in the model in order of having realistic results.
