It is vital to investigate the situations of ship bottom under longitudinal compressive load that results from the longitudinal bending of the hull girder, and at the same time considering the effect of lateral pressure. The periodical boundary conditions for two spans model are adopted to analyse the collapse behaviours of stiffened panels under combined axial thrust and lateral pressure. The material and geometric nonlinearities are considered in the simulation. The lateral pressure affect significantly on the collapse behaviours of the stiffened panels, which relate with the dimensions of stiffeners and plates.
