Broken cable analysis in tandem is one of the key safety problems of offloading. There have been many difficulties to evaluate the reliability of offloading due to the complexity of stress in main cable and mooring system. In this paper the broken cable risk analysis of mooring system is classified into several orthogonal weakest failure modes base on weakest failure modes theory, which are calculated respectively cooperated with the software calculation results by Ariane7. A dual-cable for FPSO in tandem has been considered in series-parallel system that combines the weakest failure modes theory has been proposed. The research in this paper is of instructive significance for the security analysis problems of offloading in tandem.
