In order to facilitate ship CFD computation, hybrid grid auto-generation software HIGOT-V1.1 is developed. After importing the geometric shape and control data, the software may automatically create the computational domain, partition computation zones, generate structured or unstructured grid in each zone, set the boundary conditions and export the grid file for CFD computation. The model of TEU3100 container ship is employed to evaluate the software. The grid resolutions for drag and maneuverability numerical prediction are carried out. The computed results are in good agreement with the measured data. Ship stern are deformed to investigate the propulsive performance. The numerical simulation shows that CFD computation can capture the variation of hydrodynamic performance resulting from ship stern deformation. The present research is expected to facilitate ship CFD application and construct the basis of simulation based ship design.
