The thermal switch is limited at the temperature range and the local heat transfer control due to their structures. This paper presents the development of a thermal switch for heat regulation based on the liquid column control using channel geometry effect. The most dominant factor of liquid column control is the contact angle of liquid. Therefore, the geometry of each channel was designed to affect contact angle of working fluid. Experiments were performed on a switch for the switching operation and the thermal resistance. The result shows the liquid column thermal switch can be used at the room temperature. And the heat transfer can be controlled by on/off state of the thermal switch channels.
