Abstract

ISO10791-7, which specifies the machining accuracy test standard for machining centers, and ISO10791-6, which specifies the interpolation motion test standard, were revised in 2014 to include five-axis machining centers (5-axis MCs). In 2019, China proposed a method of 8-shaped test as an interpolation motion test. In the 8-shaped test, the tip of the spindle moves in a sinusoidal curve, so there is no large acceleration or deceleration like the S-shape test proposed by China last time. Since the tip of the tool is fixed at one point and does not move, a device called R-test is used to measure the center position of the reference ball by three displacement sensors. In this report, the latest test method proposed as an ISO standard was conducted using actual machine and examined its problems.
