Pipeline Inspection and Rehabilitation Using Clock Spring^®

This paper reviews the Clock Spring^® repair system showing how it works and how it can be an effective component of a pipeline integrity program. It also outlines a Pipeline Integrity Program that is effective for TEPPCO and can be helpful to pipeline operators in the development of other pipeline integrity programs.

Using high-resolution magnetic flux leakage inspection tools and the Clock Spring^® pipeline repair system, TEPPCO’s ten-year pipeline integrity program is ahead of schedule and significantly under budget. The use of advanced technology, combined with efficient planning, has yielded a unique systematic approach to pipeline integrity enhancement.
