The expanding oil sand production regions in Canada are bringing new sources of crude oil to market. Further, there’s strong momentum to construct an Alaska natural gas pipeline crossing Canada on it’s way to the US bringing new natural gas resources to the lower 48 states. What does this activity mean for the regulatory environment? The author intends to discuss recent U.S. regulatory actions taken to facilitate cross border pipelines and increase throughput in existing pipelines.
