Abstract

The paper deals with the development of a component module library necessary to study multi-shaft gas turbine power plants.

In particular the paper presents:

- the features of the software environment used to develop the gas turbine modular dynamic model;

- for each gas turbine component, the whole form of the dynamic physical equations and their simplified final expression suitable for the software environment requirements;

- the procedure relative to the building of the gas turbine modules.

In order to validate the created gas turbine modules, the transient behavior of a twin-shaft industrial gas turbine, simulated by connecting the new modules, was compared with experimental data available in literature. The values obtained by the simulation turn out to be in agreement with the experimental data.
