This paper discusses the basic mechanisms of wave propagation inside sound insulation system based on one modified Biot theory. In particular, this paper concentrates on the determination of the asymptotic solutions to resonance frequencies and on the explanation of the interaction between the structural wave and acoustic wave. Finally, this paper demonstrates a numerical example for simulating sound transmission loss of a three-layer sound insulation system by using SYSNOISE/VIOLINS and compares it with the asymptotic solutions.
