Abstract
Two kinds of advanced power plants, a supercritical steam plant and a gas-steam turbine combined cycle, are analyzed with the aid of a methodology of graphical exergy analysis (EUDs). This analysis on the graphical EUDs provides detailed information on internal phenomena such as the driving force and distribution of exergy losses and/or waste in each process or subsystem. On the basis of the fundamental features of each plant, we recommend several schemes for improving the current advanced power plants.
