To monitor the severe points of boiler water wall on-line, a method that is suitable for membrane water wall tube is presented in this paper based on the results from numerical simulation to the temperature fields of the membrane water wall tube. The section temperature fields of the membrane water wall tube can be obtained through numerical simulation under various work conditions in advance. On basis of the temperature fields, the formulations of temperature difference of the three key points on back side and convection coefficient inside and heat flux outside can be set up. The same work can be done to the two severe points on fire side. After then the correlation formulations about the three key points and the two severe points can be obtained. Using these formulations, the temperature of two severe points can be calculated promptly by monitoring the three key points’ temperature.
