A multiobjective optimization was executed to solve several failure problems of the cemented hip stem. The objective functions are several types of stresses in the cement mantle: largest maximum principal stress (PRINCIPAL), stem/cement interface shear stress (S/C shear), bone/cement interface shear stress (B/C shear), tensile stress at proximal-lateral section (TENSILE). Pareto maps were made in order to show the relationship between the objective functions. In the results, each objective function was reduced 44–62%. Trade-off appeared between PRINCIPAL and TENSILE.
