Abstract
Two case studies are presented to show how the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodology can be used to evaluate the risk and increased maintenance and inspection costs associated with refining opportunity crudes, and demonstrate the investment, risk, and safety benefits of implementing RBI on an entire refinery complex.
