The effects of surface roughness with different orientations on thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication (TEHL) are studied based on Eyring fluid flow model under simple sliding point contacts. The effects of the amplitude and wavelength of longitudinal roughness on TEHL point contacts are also discussed under rolling and/or sliding conditions.
