Diverter valves are a critical link to the reliability and availability of a combined cycle plant. The flexibility that they allow is somewhat offset by the requirement for maintenance. Reducing maintenance is a huge advantage in operation. New designs allow for greatly reduced maintenance and huge improvements in reliability, availability and maintainability.
