A design effort was undertaken to improve the efficiency of the turbine that is used in a turbo-generator unit. Based on an existing design, an improved two-stage axial turbine was designed and tested. The design procedure and guidelines are described. For this redesign effort simple computational tools were used. The resulting turbine was manufactured and tested at PBS. Results from the tests and a comparison with the existing turbine are given.
