Electrokinetic heat in a narrow slit between two parallel plates with uniformly charged walls is investigated by considering the exact analytical solution of the Poisson-Boltzmann (PB) equation. It is demonstrated that the temperature field depends strongly upon interfacial electrokinetic effects resulting from the presence of an interfacial electric double layer (EDL) in the liquid. Thermal parameters are evaluated in systems for which the EDL thickness is comparable with or larger than the hydraulic diameter of the flow channel. Results are compared with existing approximate solutions and experimental results.
