This paper discusses the forced vibration of a constrained cantilever beam with impact and stuck interactions using any number of modes of vibration. Impacting chatter and stuck phenomena are investigated for the cantilever beam with the constraints at the free end, and analytical conditions for motion switching at the boundary are developed. From the analytical conditions, numerical simulations of periodic motions with motion switching are performed.
