The development of space research, military and medical technology requires more exact and more efficient power transmission techniques. In order to create efficient gearings it is important to produce gear parts with proper geometrical shape it is especially true for worm gears. Our goal was to work out a mathematical model for handling and classifying shape errors coming from worm gear manufacturing. The model provides a new approach to recon the confidence level and the flaws of worm gear manufacturing methods. The concept of a corresponding software system for analyzing the geometrical effect of different manufacturing inadequacies is also considered.
