A method of measuring vibration isolator’s shock characteristics is advanced in this paper. An anvil is impacted by the bullet from an air gun and hence obtains some initial velocity. Then the vibration isolator absorbs the shock load of the anvil’s inertia. The force acting on the vibration isolator and the displacement of the vibration isolator are measured with a force measuring steel block and a laser displacement sensor respectively. Hence the problem how to act controllable shock load and how to measure the data under shock condition is solved.
