Abstract
This paper discusses the computational performance of methods to solve very large scale, geometrically complex problems in elasticity using a voxelization of the domain and wavelet based discretizations. These methods are designed to avoid the complexities associated with the construction of standard finite element meshes. Results show that in very large scale problems these schemes converge more rapidly than a standard (finite element) method.
