Abstract
In this paper a new structural vibration control technique, namely tuned distributed vibration damper (DVD) is studied. Through the analysis of damping amplification factor and the comparison of the frequency response under DVD, conventional damper, absorber, etc., the advantages of DVD in the vibration control are shown. This paper still presents the variable damping DVD, and sets forward the algorithm for selecting the damping coefficients of the variable damper. Numerical results indicate that the tuned DVD can significantly reduce the vibration responses of the structure system.
