Abstract

Experimental records of acceleration time-history at several different heights in a centrifuged soil model have been analysed by the harmonic wavelet method to generate time-varying cross-spectra. These cross-spectra are compared with simulated results for a linear model. Local changes in the experimental cross-spectra, both amplitude and phase changes which are not present in the simulated results, are evidence of sudden changes in soil properties during dynamic testing.
