Perspective Browsing: An Approach to Concurrent Design Support System

An approach of perspective browsing to concurrent design support system is presented based on the methodology of browsing design using the concept of perspective and the data structure called hypergraph. Hypergraph (HG) presents the high functional navigation for browsing design. The perspective model (PERMO) implemented using HG represents designer’s views and is designed to manipulate them in browsing design.

An example of bicycle design for the aged people using a prototype of bicycle design support system shows how to conduct perspective browsing in browsing design and its simulation shows the validity of our approach to concurrent design support system.
