Abstract
The ‘exact’ dynamic stiffness matrix for the case of a circular ring segment, considering the in-plane bending vibration only, is presented and its use for different situations of classical boundary conditions is discussed. In this formulation one can also include the flexibilities of the end supports in the radial and rotational directions and/or consider the flexible or rigid intermediate supports for a multi-span structure. Dynamic analysis of structures composed of circular ring segments with different load applications can also be investigated using this formulation.
