Abstract

Two methods for assessing conceptual alternatives for the solution of a design problem are compared in the areas of reliability, sensitivity, and validity. The method utilizing relative comparisons has been shown in previous analysis to be more usable than the method utilizing absolute ratings, but the current analysis shows that the relative comparison method does not produce results as well as the absolute rating method in the areas of reliability and validity.
