Abstract
This paper presents a compact generalized mathematical model for design of cam mechanisms by using some new geometric and kinematic formulas derived by the authors, and develops a program OPDC that covers more than ten types of planar and spatial cam mechanisms, and by means of which geometric and kinematic analyses as well as design optimization can be performed.
