Abstract
Fiber glass rod (i.e. FGR) is an uniaxial fiber reinforced plastic. In the movement of the rods, some dynamic characteristics such as the wave velocity and the damped coefficient are most important dynamic factors in analysis of the dynamic response of the rods. Generally, FGR are composed of two materials, fibers and resins. The particularities of the parameters for the wave velocity, etc of FGR are mainly depend on these two materials of different properties. This paper studies longitudinal velocity for FGR theoretecally and measure it by vibration method. The viscous damped coefficient is also measured by the theory of viscoelasticity. This paper presents that the viscous damped characteristic of material is mainly depend on the coupling mass between the rods.
