Abstract
Three aspects of Mathematica applications are addressed. The first is to use the symbolic language for simple mathematical operations, such as matrix algebra, root finding, spline curve-fit, and Runge-Kutta integration. The second is about graphic applications such as drawing curves, bar graph, labeling, and up to three-dimensional, hidden-line plotting. The third and most important aspect is to use the Mathematica C-type commands to define user’s problems which the students must master in order to apply Mathematica effectively.
