Abstract

An exclusive safety device with siphon breaking holes and outer sleeve was designed to suppress a lot coolant drain due to primary circuit loop potential risk of sodium purification system in CFR600, which device was different from the conventional form style with siphon breaking line or hole. A set experimental system was used to carry out a series study of the siphon breaking phenomenon, it was established with running condition and function requirement of the siphon breaker, in order to know the working mechanism and test the design performance of CFR600 siphon breaker. The key locality was carried real time image observation and data acquisition by visualization means. In experimental process found when experimental conditions in accordance with nominal parameter, leakage could be blocked quickly by this siphon breaker, and the process could indicate the device design was very effective. In addition, the bubby flow, slug flow and wave flows were turned in outside container highest horizontal pipe, than the leak was blocked when wave flow was found. An experimental results had showed that the design plan of CFR600 siphon breaker with siphon breaking holes and outer sleeve could effectively shorten the leaking time and slash liquid leakage rate.
