Performance-based fire protection design (PFPD), a new method to solve complex/special fire engineering problem, satisfy the safety requirements of fire protection goals based on these specific data from the characteristics of the combustible objects and building, and make satisfied evaluation and verification of the fire prevention design, by analyzing the fire scene and calculating the fire risk. When the project is complicated, and the design standard or code has implementation difficulties or the fire protection goals are really special, the method of PFPD can be an alternative way which is reasonable and scientific to the fire protection design and evaluation.
