Multi-stage Centrifugal compressors are widely used in air separation, gas and process and power generation applications. ASME PTC 10 [1] and VDI 2045 [2] performance test codes outline standard performance testing requirements for single and multi-stage compressors with or without sidestream inlets/ extractions. This paper outlines the process of testing and validation of a four stage centrifugal compressor with a sidestream extraction at the third stage exit allowing for simultaneous instrument air supply and soot blowing.
