Finite element structural code HEFEST-M is advanced together with results of simulations. HEFEST-M possibilities include large nonlinear deformation, contact interaction of the deformed domains, elastic-plastic and high-temperature creep models. The creep model coefficients were defined for the two kinds of reactor vessel steel: SA533B1 (PWR) and 15×2HMVA (VVER). Failure criteria are implemented in the code. Some examples of test calculations are presented in the paper. The results of simulation of the VVER-1000 vessel containing core melt are presented and discussed.
