The fragmentation process of high-temperature molten drop is a key factor to determine the ratio heat transferred to power in FCIs, which estimated possible damage degree. But at present the fragmentation mechanism is not yet clear, the corresponding physics and mathematics model has not been set up completely, and this greatly restricts the practical application of research results. In this paper, the fragmentation process of molten drops is investigated by theoretic analysis. A thermal fragmentation model for a single melt droplet is developed, and the fragmentation correlations are verified by comparing the predictions of fragments size with experimental data.
