Experimental studies of Pb-Bi-Water direct contact boiling two-phase flow have been conducted (in the chimney 29.9mm in diameter and 2,367mm in length). The rated operating conditions of system pressure was 7MPa, the liquid metal temperature was 460°C and injected water temperature was 220°C. Pb-Bi flow rates were measured and analytically estimated using balance condition between buoyancy force and pressure losses. The drift-flux model was used to determine the void fraction with assumption that bubbles sizes were dependent on the fluid surface tension and the density ratio of Pb-Bi to steam and water mixture. The result of analysis shows that the deviation from the experimental data was less than 20%.
